Take it from me…. it takes years to learn how to care for a bonsai, that's the fun of it. Do yourself a favor and start reading everything you can get your hands on…. then start cutting, bending and killing all the little trees you can get your hands on! It is a lot of fun, but certainly not a hobby for someone who needs immediate gratification. Hope that helps?

I have this little palm-like thing. It likes to be given a little water from the bottom every two weeks or so – really easy. Fertilizer makes it get too happy, so just stick with tap water or bottled water. It is a palm – like a Sago, but with slightly chunkier leaves. You will fins them when you are looking at Bonsai stores or displays – they are even in florists shops now, since these are easy ones.

Don't forget, you first have to decide whether you want an indoor or outdoor tree, then go from there.
