If he knows a lot about them and wants to take care of it, yes. If he is interested in it or learning about it, yes. A juniper is a great choice!

Sure. That is a stupid question to ask. if he knows how to take care of them yes. if not..yes. He can learn from them and take care of it, watch it grow, nurture it, and keep it alive. Alot like a pet, but without the mess. They are hard to care for. Learn with him.

I think that its a great idea. A bonsai is a gift that you can watch mature and beautify over time, and it will live longer than he does
