David–First of all, do we know what kind of seed it is? It could be a conifer, or a deciduous tree, or even a flowering shrub, as well as a conditions for germination shift for any species. But for many bonsai plants from ascetic zones, we competence wish to stratify a seed. Put a seeds in a cosmetic bag with a little wet potting soil, tighten as well as sign it, as well as place in a refrigerator. we customarily begin checking a seeds for sprouts after 3 weeks. If zero is function after a month, lift a bag out to room temp for a week, as well as afterwards behind in a fridge. Keep cycling in between cold as well as comfortable for up to 6 months, as well as if zero by then, plant a total disaster in a grassed area (and symbol a mark so we do not remove it) as well as let a seeds go by a normal winter upon their own. Hope which helps!

bonsais do not come from seeds; bonsais are made from normal sized plants, and the roots and branches are trimmed to stunt their growth;
you should really buy a good book all about Bonsai; Sunset books has several … and read everything it has to say before you embark on this lifelong project; bonsais take effort, time, work and study.
if you hafl to get some reaserch done in any case you should get help from a local nursrie
FIRST, seeds are not an easy way to grow trees, but ask the seller for specific instructions. A RESPONSIBLE seller will be able to give you excellent instructions. There are several different ways to prepare seeds for planting, so get information on “propagation.”
SECOND, asking a person how to care for a bonsai is like asking a pilot how to fly a plane. There are 100′s of species of plants used for bonsai and almost as many different ways to take care of them. Once you have determined the species of the tree, you’re welcome to send me email at:
